Jersey 2023 music festivals are coming: Sea.Hear.Now, a possible Blink-182 show, and more

It's not too early to start thinking about summer of 2023 Jersey beach music festivals.

The Sea.Hear.Now music, art and surfing fest on the beach and Bradley Park in Asbury Park has announced that it will take place Sept. 16 and 17 next year. The fest just wrapped up on Sept. 17 and 18, with Green Day and Stevie Nicks headlining.

Speaking of headliners, Blake Shelton and Darius Rucker are the first two announced for the 2023 Barefoot Country Music Festival, which takes place June 15 to 18 on the beach in Wildwood.

Tickets, starting at $189, are available via barefootcountrymusicfest.com.

A few blocks from the beach in Atlantic City, the 20th anniversary of the Bamboozle is set for May 5 to 7 at the city's Bader Field. No lineup yet, but tickets got on sale Friday, Nov. 25. Visit www.bamboozlefestival.com for more info.

In Atlantic City, the Frantic City music festival on Sept. 24 at the Orange Loop Amphitheater, a block from the ocean on South New York Avenue, ended with a surprise: host and funnyman Fred Armisen playing drums for headliner Yo La Tengo. He was, perhaps, the second most famous drummer in town that night.

“Sorry Ringo, we do not have room for you,” said Yo La Tengo bassist James McNew, referring to the Ringo Starr show at the Hard Rock Hotel.

No word yet on Frantic City for 2023. Also no word on the 2023 country-themed TidalWave Music Festival, which debuted on the AC beach in August. The Adjacent Festival, however, is coming to the Atlantic City beach on May 27 and 28, according to its just posted website. Insiders say it'll be chock-full of pop-punk and emo bands, including Blink-182, which teased an appearance at the fest on Instagram.

It sounds like 2023 is going to be another busy year on the beaches of the Jersey Shore for music fans.

Coming to stadiums in 2023

Who's playing outdoor shows in the state's amphitheaters and stadiums next summer?

While the state's music festival scene is already heating up, things are a bit quieter for the big tours. However, Ed Sheeran fans are happy as his “+ - = ÷ x Tour,” pronounced “Mathematics Tour,” plays June 10, 2023, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, and June 3, 2023, at Lincoln Financial Field in Philly. Ticket prices have not been released but presales begin at noon Wednesday, Oct. 12, and they go on sale to the general public Friday, Oct. 14.
