TOPEKA (KSNT) – The first of three big elections is on the horizon in Kansas, are you registered to vote in it?

Kansas Secretary of State (SOS) Scott Schwab issued a press release on Tuesday, Feb. 20 warning Kansans about some important voting deadlines. The deadline to register to vote in the Presidential Preference Primary (PPP) on March 19 along with the deadline to apply for an advance mail ballot both fall today.

“I encourage all eligible Kansans to participate in this historic election,” Schwab said. “The Presidential Preference Primary is unique. The timelines and laws governing this election differ from other primary or general elections. One notable difference is today’s additional deadline of advance mail ballot applications.”

Schwab said Kansans can also register to vote or send in their advance mail application in person at their local county election office or by going to the SOS’s office. In-person advance voting starts on Feb. 28.
