Nicole Kidman just gave away a HUGE Big Little Lies season 2 spoiler
Great news, gang! A second season of Big Little Lies is definitely happening, and it's coming to our screens on NOW TV on 10th June 2019. Oh, and while we're at it, season 3 might happen too. But let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet...
Here's everything we know so far about what we can expect from season 2.
Big Little Lies season 2 spoilers
So you know how, at the end of season 1, Zoe Kravitz's character Bonnie pushes Perry, played by Alexander Skarsgård, down a flight of stairs and he dies? Well Nicole Kidman may have just given away a pretty sizeable season 2 spoiler...
During a recent panel discussion with the show's cast, Nicole said how amazing it had been to work alongside Alexander in season 1 even suggested that he'll be for the next season. She said, "He was the most incredible acting partner, and then he came back for season 2..."
The second she said that, her co-star and fellow producer Reese Witherspoon laughed and was all like, "Stop talking!"
Trying to dig herself out of a hole, Nicole added: "He has a little bit of a part in the sense of…the basis of…okay, I’ll be quiet. He didn’t abandon us. We’ll put it that way."
Good one...
Big Little Lies season 2 extended trailer
After the release of a pretty enticing teaser trailer for season 2 of Big Little Lies, HBO has released an extended version and my LORD it is tense. In the trailer, we find out that [SPOILER ALERT] Meryl Streep is in Monterey and she's on a mission to find out what really happened to her son Perry, who died at the end of season 1.
"You don't believe my son just slipped, do you?" she asks Perry's wife Celeste, played by Nicole Kidman, in one scene. "My son is dead, and I want answers," says Meryl's character.
"I gave you answers," Celeste replies.
And then, here it comes: "Yes but you left some things out, didn't you? You were planning to leave him, and you learned of his infidelity just ten seconds before he died. You left that out, too."
Oh myyyyy. Things are about to unravel. You've probably already watched the extended trailer at the top of this page, but if you can't wait until June 10th when the first episode drops, here's the teaser trailer to get excited about...
Big Little Lies season 2 release date
The second season of Big Little Lies will launch in the US on HBO on 6th June. But, annoyingly, we won't be able to watch it on Sky Atlantic (NOW TV) until 10th June at 9pm. But that's only a couple of days later, so cool your jets.

Big Little Lies season 2 storyline
Here's the official synopsis for season 2: "The Golden Globe and Emmy-winning series is a subversive, darkly comedic drama, which will continue to explore the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting.
"Woodley's character Jane Chapman will be processing Perry's sudden death in the storyline, while trying to build a new life for herself and her son, Ziggy.
"Dern, who received both an Emmy and Golden Globe for her performance, will be reprising her role as Renata Klein, a woman who will be faced with new challenges in her marriage.
"Bonnie Carlson, Zoë Kravitz's character, will confront her past while struggling to come to terms with Perry's death."
And this is how HBO describes the upcoming season: "The subversive, darkly comedic drama Big Little Lies will explore the malignancy of lies, the durability of friendships, the fragility of marriage and, of course, the vicious ferocity of sound parenting. Relationships will fray, loyalties will erode… the potential for emotional and bodily injury shall loom."
Big Little Lies season 2 cast
We know for sure that Reese, Nicole, Shailene, Zoe Kravitz and Laura Dern will be back in season 2. HOORAY!
Then Adam Scott confirmed that he will indeed return as Madeline's husband, Ed.
Very flattered and excited to be back on this great show. Hoping it will catch on. https://t.co/k78b8dBovL

And guess what... MERYL STREEP IS GOING TO BE IN SEASON 2.
Meryl has signed on to play Mary Louise Wright, who is the mother of Alexander Skarsgard’s character Perry. She arrives in Monterey searching for answers, and concerned for the wellbeing of her grandchildren following Perry’s death in the season one finale. And considering (spoilers) all five of the show’s leading ladies had a hand in Perry’s death, this should be a pretty tense and fascinating dynamic to watch unfold.
Here's your first look at lovely Meryl on the show!

According to Deadline, Douglas will play new Corey Brockfield, an off-beat surfer, aspiring marine biologist and Jane's co-worker.
