Here are Gastonia, Shelby all-district, all-conference high school basketball standouts

Big South 3A, Southern Piedmont 1A/2A, Western Foothills 3A and Catawba Valley 2A recently announced their all-conference high school basketball teams. Rosters were voted on by league coaches.

In addition, the NC Basketball Coaches Association also released its all-district rosters.

Player of the Year: Justin Ross, Hunter Huss. The U.S. Naval Academy signee averaged 18.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, five steals, 2.3 blocks and 1.8 assists this past season to help Huss return to the postseason.

Coach of the Year: Kody Kubbs, South Point. Led the Red Raiders to a 25-5 record and the Big South 3A title, the first conference championship in program history.

Player of the Year: Madison Cole, Ashbrook. The Green Wave senior standout averaged a career-high 20.9 points per game, along with 5.4 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 2.5 assists.

Coach of the Year: Bobby Lipscomb, Hunter Huss. Led the Huskies to the Big South 3A championship, ending an 18-year title drought. Huss also won a playoff game for the first time since 2002.

Player of the Year: Randall Pettus, Bessemer City. The Northern Kentucky signee was voted the league's top player for a second consecutive season. He averaged 24 points, 8.1 rebounds, 8.1 assists, 6.3 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.

Coach of the Year: Eugene Farrar, East Gaston. Led East Gaston to its first league championship since 2005. The Warriors advanced to the 2A West regional semifinal, earning a program record 25 wins.

All-conference team: Keyshawn Adams, Bessemer City; Cameron Gales, Thomas Jefferson; Drew Hollifield, Shelby; Carson Kelly, Cherryville; Daylin Lee, Shelby; Connor Rankin, East Gaston; McCaskill Rivers, East Gaston; Eli Sherrill, Highland Tech; Trent Sherrill, East Gaston; Ryan Thompson, Burns; Lemont Wilson, Burns.

Girls

Player of the Year: Ally Hollifield, Shelby. The Gardner-Webb signee capped her career by averaging 24 points, 8.9 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 5.4 steals per game.

Coach of the Year: Scooter Lawrence, Shelby. Led the Lady Lions to a 26-2 record, including an unblemished 12-0 record against Southern Piedmont 1A/2A competition.
