Bigfork Rodeo dusts up another performance

Jul. 8—BIGFORK — The third night of the Bigfork Summer ProRodeo got underway Thursday with a few more bull riders looking for qualified rides and close races in barrel racing and team roping.

Results for the third round were not available at press time.

After Wednesday's rounds, Tyler Nelson of Victor, ID led the bareback riding with 88 points. Keenan Hayes of Hayden, CO was in second with 84.5 points.

Jaret Whitman of Belgrade had the fastest time Wednesday in steer wrestling with a lightning-fast 3.3 seconds. Will Lummus and J.D. Struxness tied for second, both with a time of 5.3 seconds.

Curtis Cassidy leads the overall standings with a combined time of 7.1 seconds on two head.

Hailing from Deer Lodge, saddle bronc rider Chase Brooks scored 82.5 points Wednesday to lead Tanner Butner's 82.

With 16.20 seconds, Stephanie Fryar holds the lead in barrel racings.

There were just three qualifying rides among the bull riders. Colton Byrum of Mound City, KS scored 87 points riding New West Rodeo Productions' Throw Down, 5.5 points ahead of Dustin Jenkins' 81.5.

The PRCA-sanctioned rodeo closes the week today with its fourth and final performance, which starts at 7 p.m. at the Bigfork Rodeo grounds.
