Bike found, but Northern California cyclist still missing

Jun. 28—Search and rescue crews have found clothing and the bike that belonged to Terry Knight of McCloud, California, who went missing in the woods of Northern California last week, but they're still searching for the missing mountain biker.

Knight was last seen June 22, when it's believed he left his home on his bike to cut some trails in a remote part of Siskiyou County, according to updates from the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office.

Over the weekend, search teams found Knight's, bike, helmet and some of his clothing north of McCloud Mill near Mud Creek.

Based on the new information, a CHP helicopter searched for Knight, but the helicopter team was not able to locate him.

More resources have joined teams from across three states in the search for Knight including six K9 teams from the California Rescue Dog Association, two mountain bike teams from Butte County and an ATV team from NAPA county.

Ground search teams scoured new ground in the Mount Shasta National Forest overnight, and K9 search teams began a new round of grid searches.

Knight is described as 6 feet tall, 175 pounds with gray hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office dispatch at 530-841-2900.
