Thurston County residents are invited to improve their own health and reduce car trips by joining Intercity Transit’s Bicycle Community Challenge during the month of May.

Participants can win prizes by riding on their own or joining a team. All bicycle rides in Thurston County are eligible, whether done for transportation or recreation.

Thurston County residents simply create an account and log bike rides at bcc.intercitytransit.com through May 31 to be eligible to win prizes.

Bike to Work (or anywhere) Day is planned for Thursday, May 18.

Thurston County youth (18 and younger) also can participate in the Youth Bike & Roll Challenge. Kids can join in the Bicycle Community Challenge fun by riding their bicycles, scooters or skateboards for 10 or more days in May to win a prize.

Kids who want to participate should:

  • Download a challenge card and record the miles they ride each day.

  • Email their completed challenge card to walknroll@intercitytransit.com by Thursday, June 1. Intercity Transit will send them a prize in the mail and enter them in a drawing for bigger prizes.

  • Bonus: Send a photo of your child(ren) riding or rolling for a bonus prize. By sending a photo, you give Intercity Transit permission to use it for public promotion.
