Spring arrived Sunday, and the area's abuzz with arts, entertainment and recreational activities this weekend. Here are five to consider:

'Send in the Clowns': South Bend Civic wraps 'A Little Night Music' production

SOUTH BEND — South Bend Civic Theatre concludes its run of Stephen Sondheim’s “A Little Night Music” with performances March 24-27 at 403 N. Main St.

Based on Ingmar Bergman’s film “Smiles of a Summer Night,” the musical is set in a weekend country house in turn of the century Sweden and brings together surprising liaisons, long simmering passions and a taste of love’s endless possibilities. Best known for the song “Send in the Clowns,” the story centers on the elegant actress Desiree Armfeldt and the spider’s web of sensuality, intrigue and desire that surrounds her.

Comedian Pierce performs at Calvary Assembly in Elkhart

ELKHART — Comedian Chonda Pierce performs at 7 p.m. March 24 at Calvary Assembly Church, 1010 E. Mishawaka Road.

A stand-up comedian, television host, author and actress, Pierce channels her life experiences into positivity to draw humor and good from every situation, including her upbringing as the daughter of a preacher in South Carolina and times of darkness and depression.

Billed as “The Queen of Clean” and “The Country Comic,” she has released 10 albums and eight books. Pierce received five Daytime Emmy nominations for her work co-hosting the talk show “Aspiring Women” on the Total Living Network and her first television special, “This Ain’t Prettyville!” on CMT.

In 2006, she founded Branches Recovery Center, which offers counseling and treatment to those with depression, anxiety and addiction, regardless of their ability to pay.

SOUTH BEND — American Theatre Guild presents Blue Man Group at 8 p.m. March 25 and 26 at the Morris Performing Arts Center, 211 N. Michigan St.

This all-new show features signature drumming; pulsing, original music; custom-made instruments; surprise audience interaction; and quirky, comedic absurdity.

Blue Man Group is known for its award-winning theatrical productions, iconic characters, multiple creative explorations and performances that create euphoric celebrations of human connection through art, music, comedy and non-verbal communication.

Since debuting at New York’s Astor Place Theatre in 1991, the live show has expanded to additional domestic residencies in Boston, Chicago and Las Vegas, an international residency in Berlin, and multiple North American and world tours. Blue Man Group also has appeared on such TV shows as “Dancing With the Stars,” “The Tonight Show” and “Arrested Development,” among others.

Library screens 'South Bend's Studebaker Legacy' film March 25

SOUTH BEND — The St. Joseph County Public Library presents “Movies@Main: South Bend’s Studebaker Legacy” at 7 p.m. March 25 at 304 S. Main St.

“South Bend’s Studebaker Legacy” is a locally-produced film, photographed and written by Lou Sabo and edited by Vince Sipocz, documenting the last days of the Studebaker factory in South Bend, the effects of the factory’s closure on the city and its recovery in recent years.

Bicycle swap meet pedals into St. Patrick's County Park

SOUTH BEND — The Michiana Bicycle Association and the Northern Indiana Mountain Bike Association present their annual bike swap meet from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 27 in the big red barn at St. Patrick's County Park, 50651 Laurel Road.

Sellers should arrive between 10:45 and 11:30 a.m. to set up. It will be first-come first-served for table space. But there will be an overflow space outside of the barn.

Admission is free, and there won’t be a park entry fee. Masks are optional.

Dress for the weather. The barn isn’t heated. There will be a booth selling coffee, tea, hot cocoa and snacks.
