·2 min read

The Bill Shaw Salvation Army Christmas Fund is off to a great start this week and has already raised more than $4,400.

A total of 28 donors are on the list to kick off the fund, giving a total of $4,415. They include Terri Sue Giles, who joins the fund’s elite $1,000 club.

The fund’s organizers and those it helps appreciate all those who are writing checks that go to help families in the Fayetteville area at Christmas and throughout the year. We look forward to hearing from everyone across our community, whether they are first-time donors or those who contribute every year as we work toward the goal of $360,000.

Maj. Cheryl and Maj. Tim Grider of the Salvation Army said in a statement that the Bill Shaw Christmas fund is an integral part of the organization’s fundraising campaign each year.

“We rely on the funds to help us support our community through various forms of seasonal assistance, as well as our white flag nights, which provide a warm place to sleep and a hot meal to our neighbors in need on the coldest nights of the year,” they said. “We are so grateful for the support of our community through the Bill Shaw fund each year.”
