Billie Eilish, Halsey, Khalid and Rage Against the Machine lead 2020 Firefly Music Festival line-up
Reunited rockers Rage Against the Machine and Grammy record-setter Billie Eilish will lead a high-powered 2020 line-up for Firefly Music Festival on the first weekend of the summer.
The festival, entering its ninth year in Dover, revealed the line-up Tuesday morning, which also includes Halsey, Khalid, Blink 182, Maggie Rogers, Cage the Elephant, Illenium and Run the Jewels. See the full lineup below.
Presale tickets will go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at fireflyfestival.com. Fans must first go to the site and register for a unique access code to the sale. A price for those passes was not immediately released.
Tickets will open to the general public Monday. Four-day passes will start at $299.
Eilish, the 18-year-old Los Angeles singer/songwriter who made her Grammy hits with her brother in her bedroom, made history at the 62nd annual Grammy Awards on Sunday by becoming the first woman to win in the "big four" categories of record, album, song and best new artist.
With Eilish and singer/songwriter Halsey among the headliners for 2020, Firefly made some history of its own.
It's the first time the festival has had two female headliners. In fact, before this year, Firefly had only one female headliner out of 29 and that was Florence and the Machine in 2016.
Grammys 2020: Billie Eilish sweeps all four major categories, including album and record of the year
After switching to a three-day fest last year, Firefly will return to the four-day format it had offered from 2014-2017, running June 18-21 in The Woodlands.
Firefly officials announced 50,000 attended this year's festival, falling well short of matching the drawing power of the 90,000 who came to see Paul McCartney in 2015 and the 80,000 who rocked out with the Foo Fighters the year prior.
Both of the festival's major beer sponsors reported sales were down about 40 percent in 2019, pointing the finger at the younger (and smaller) crowds that Firefly has drawn in recent years.
Last year's festival was headlined by rockers Panic! At The Disco and rappers Travis Scott and Post Malone. The line-up also included sets by Zedd, Kygo, Death Cab for Cutie, Vampire Weekend, DJ Snake Tyler, The Creator.
Friday's presale will not the be the first time fans are able to snap up tickets to Firefly 2020. The festival had previously held a "loyalty presale" in late October when the festival dates were announced. Those four-day passes passes cost $229 (general admission), $679 (VIP) and $2,499 (Super VIP) at the time.
Other 2020 announced acts include former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth, Scottish synth-pop act Chvrches, Bottle & Cork regulars The Struts, Swedish singer/songwriter Tove Lo and rapper Lil Dicky.
