Billions has released the first-look trailer for the seventh and final season, teasing the return of Damian Lewis in the process.
The actor will reprise his role as Bobby Axelrod following his absence from the sixth season, with the character returning to cause drama in the final run of episodes.

The two-minute trailer, which was introduced by Lewis and co-star Paul Giamatti, opens with Axelrod declaring that he was “back and wide awake”, whilst also hinting at Mike Prince’s (Corey Stoll) run for the presidency.
The synopsis for the seventh season, which will premiere on August 11, reads: “Alliances are turned on their heads. Old wounds are weaponized. Loyalties are tested. Betrayal takes on epic proportions. Enemies become wary friends. And Bobby Axelrod returns, as the stakes grow from Wall Street to the world.”
Upon the announcement of the final season, Chris McCarthy, the president and CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios and Paramount Media Networks, said: “Billions has deftly explored power, money and greed in a way that not only made it a massive hit, but also defined its own genre thanks to the creative brain trust of [co-showrunners] Brian [Koppelman] and David [Levien].

“This final season is packed full of the incredible, complex dialogue and character dynamics fans have come to love, and we are thrilled to partner with them on turning this hit series into a global franchise.”
Though Billions might be nearing its conclusion, Showtime is reportedly developing a collection of spin-offs, with Millions set to focus on thirtysomethings in Manhattan and Trillions depicting “fictional stories about the richest people in the world”.
There are also proposed spin-offs based in Miami and London, though they are both currently untitled.
Billions season 7 premieres on Showtime on August 11.
