Bills-Dolphins game paused due to fans throwing snowballs onto field

Let it snow at Highmark Stadium. But don't let it rain snowballs.

Officials briefly halted in the second quarter of the Buffalo Bills game against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday because of fans throwing snowballs onto the field.

An announcement was made over the sound system at that stadium that a 15-yard penalty will be assessed against the Bills if a snowball hits a player. The PA announcer also said that any fan caught throwing snowballs will be ejected and subject to arrest.

Earlier in the game, Bills fans and players celebrated touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins by throwing snowballs.

Josh Allen made a beautiful throw to tight end Quintin Morris for a 14-yard TD to give the Bills a 7-3 lead at Highmark Stadium on Saturday. Then the snow started flying.

Fans tossed snowballs in the air and onto the field and a couple Bills players tossed the snowballs back into the crowd.

There are signs at the stadium that say "Please do not throw any items including snow."
