Bills’ Jerry Hughes starts training camp on Reserve/NFI list

The Bills will start training camp with an injured player.

According to Buffalo general manager Brandon Beane, defensive end Jerry Hughes has a calf strain.

Hughes entered training camp and the issue was discovered when he failed his physical. Due to the knock, Hughes will be placed on the NFI (non-football injury) list.

Considering that designation, Hughes did not suffer the injury playing football. Beane also said the injury occurred while Hughes was working out in preparation for the season.

Beane did not provide a timetable for Hughes’ return, but did add that the injury does not seem major.
