Bills’ Josh Allen believes CBS Sports jinxed him on coin toss in playoff loss to Chiefs

When you’re involved in one of the greatest games in NFL history, there is no escape from being asked about it.

That’s what Bills quarterback Josh Allen has learned — to his chagrin.

Allen talked on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast about how football fans have been stopping him this offseason to talk about the Chiefs’ 42-36 overtime win over Buffalo in an AFC Divisional playoff game.

“People still come up to me and talk about it. That’s the game people talk about,” Allen said. “To be a part of it is great, but to be on the losing end of it, not so great. It doesn’t make me feel any better when someone comes up (and) says, ‘That was the greatest game I’ve ever seen.’ It’s like, we lost.”

Allen was asked what hurt more: losing the game or the coin toss.

It was the latter, in part because he hadn’t lost a toss all season, a fact that was brought up during a production meeting with CBS Sports.

“Up to that point I think I was 9-0 throughout the season. In our production meeting, it was jinxed, and I was 0 for 2 in that game,” Allen said . “They brought up that stat, you’re 9-0 on (the coin toss). … So, I go 0-2 on coin tosses that game. I switched it up, I went heads first (at the start of the game) and then I went tails at the end, and it was obviously flip-flopped.”

San Francisco tight end George Kittle was on the podcast and tried to get Allen to say who at CBS jinxed him. But Allen didn’t spill the beans.

Here is the part of the podcast about the coin toss and be warned that there is quite a bit of cursing.
