Buffalo Bills linebacker AJ Klein was named the AFC’s Defensive Player of the Week by the NFL for his effort in his team’s 27-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

Klein had 14 tackles, a career-high, to lead the Bills, while adding three of those tackles for loss, with 1.5 sacks and a pass breakup. In Klein, Buffalo has their second AFC Defensive Player of the Week Award for this season.

The first was defensive end Jerry Hughes in Week 7. In addition, quarterback Josh Allen won the Offensive Player of the Week Award in Week 2 and Week 9.

Klein’s play has recently been praised after a tough start to the year. He’s seen significant playing time throughout the year filling in for the injured Matt Milano. So far in 2020, Klein has 58 tackles, two forced fumbles, two passes defended and five sacks, which more thank doubles his previous single-season, career-high.
