Offensive lineman David Edwards has been added to the fold in the trenches with the Buffalo Bills.
Formerly a member of the Los Angeles Rams, Edwards signed a one-year deal with the Bills.
Edwards, 26, departs the Rams after his rookie contract expired. He was originally a fifth-round pick of the Rams in the 2019 NFL draft.
Edwards quickly proved himself as a good selection. Out of 53 career games with Los Angeles, he made 45 starts including 10 as a rookie.
But his most difficult season came in 2022. Limited to four games, Edwards sat out most of last year due to a concussion.
When he was on the field, Edwards had a tough go as well. His 58.2 grade from Pro Football Focus in 2022 was a career-worst.
His best came in 2020, when Edwards graded out at 70.3.
The highlight of Edwards’ career was undoubtedly 2021, though. He was a starter on the Rams offensive line when they won the Super Bowl over the Cincinnati Bengals.
His time in Los Angeles also corresponded with the timing Bills offensive line coach Aaron Kromer was there. He held that position with the Rams prior to re-joining the Bills.
With Buffalo, Edwards will have an opportunity to compete for playing time at guard. There, the Bills currently have the likes of Connor McGovern, Ryan Bates and Ike Boettger.
