Brandon & Amy Carper

Brandon Carper was raised in Highland Park, Illinois. He received a dual sports scholarship for hockey and baseball, where he graduated from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He went on to get drafted by the Calgary Flames and play professional hockey for 10 years. He is currently the station manager at the Miramar Beach Post Office.

Amy is a Fort Walton Beach native. After graduating from FWB High School, she attended the University of South Alabama, where she graduated with a degree in Geography. She has worked with Uniti Fiber based out of Mobile, Alabama, for the past 13 years as a senior service delivery project manager.

Annual tradition: Bowlegs celebrates capture of Fort Walton Beach with 66th annual parade

Amy and Brandon met in 1997 when he was playing ice hockey for the Mobile Mystics, and they enjoyed traveling the U.S. and Europe during his career. They will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary this month.

Their son Quinn is a rising senior at Fort Walton Beach High School, where he plays soccer and football.

Amy and Brandon love to travel and enjoy pretty much anything outdoors (hunting/fishing/boating), but most importantly spending time with family and friends.

K.C. & Ashley Cook

K.C. and Ashley Cook were born and raised in Fort Walton Beach. They attended Choctawhatchee High School and the University of Alabama. After attending Alabama, K.C. moved back to FWB to pursue a career in real estate, which he has done for the past 11 years.

K.C. is the son of Kenny and Cindy Cook, Honor Guard XLI. K.C. served as a Privateer for Captain Frank Robbins and Queen Alexis Tibbetts XLIX.

Ashley is the granddaughter of Bill Spain, Captain Billy XXIV. She served as a child of the court for Captain Herb Tinsley and Queen Carlee Foster XXXVI, as well as a Princess on the court for Captain Frank Robbins and Queen Alexis Tibbetts XLIX. Ashley was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority at Alabama, and she enjoys playing tennis.

K.C. and Ashley have two children, Conner (8) and Lauren (4 months). They both enjoy spending time on the boat and being with family and friends.

Philip & Dionna Feldner

Born in New Orleans, Philip has called the Emerald Coast home since 1996. Phil has been in the security industry for over 25 years, and is co-owner of Next Level Security and Sound.

Dionna was born abroad due to the Army, but moved to the U.S. very early and graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in 1991. She enjoyed many fun jobs over the years at local favorites such as Fort SK8 Family Fun, Fort Walton Beach Bowl and The Block. Now in the A/C business, she works for All Weather Air Inc.

Phil and Dionna have seven kids and seven grandkids between them, and count themselves blessed with all the fun that entails. In their spare time, they love to boat, ride their dirt bikes or cruise on their Harley. You can see them enjoying their scooters and skateboards, too!

Jim & Rebecca Kistler

Jim and Rebecca Kistler have been married for two years and are both natives of Missouri.

Jim spent his years after graduation as a chemist and a medical investigator, and for the past 25 years as a lobbyist and nonprofit association leader. His career has included lobbying elected officials from local city councils to the halls of Congress in Washington, D.C. More recently, Jim discovered a passion for helping adults establish new career paths through adult vocational education programs.

After graduation, Rebecca married and had four children. She raised her military family while moving throughout the U.S. and spent four years in England. She has distinguished herself as an accomplished retail manager while serving our military families for 15 years. She has earned a stellar reputation among military and civilian leaders.

They both have a passion for music and dancing, which is how they met. They enjoy teaching the latest country and top 40 line dances, as well as traditional country two-step and waltz. They also play competitive billiards, having earned a trip to play in the APA World Pool Championships in Las Vegas in 2021. They also enjoy boating, motorcycle riding, hiking, fishing and spending time with their six children and seven grandchildren.

Jeff & Mary Reinlie

Jeff and Mary Reinle met in 2009 and were married in 2011. They live in Shalimar and enjoy working in their yard, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Jeff was raised in Fort Walton Beach and graduated from Florida State University. He spent 19 years in the Atlanta area and returned to the local area in 2006. He spent the majority of his career as a sales manager for large companies selling technical products.

Mary was born at Fort Benning, Georgia, and has lived in Thailand, England and throughout the United States. She settled in Fort Walton Beach in 2003 and is currently a programmer with the Okaloosa County School District. Mary has three children: Natasha, Bobby and Katrina.

Geoff & Teresa Risley

Geoff and Teresa Risley are fairly new members of the Krewe of Bowlegs. They love the friendships and community connections they are forming through the Krewe.

Teresa, a Navy brat, grew up all over the world but considers herself from Pensacola, where she graduated from Escambia High School.

Geoff was born and raised in Fort Myers, where he was a star basketball player.

They met and dated while attending rival universities (FSU and UF). After many years apart, Teresa and Geoff reconnected and got married. They moved from Jacksonville to Fort Walton Beach in 2018. Being avid boaters, they love being back on the Gulf Coast and living on the water.

Geoff is a vascular surgeon in Fort Walton Beach and Destin. Teresa sold her Jacksonville child care businesses and now enjoys volunteering, playing tennis and traveling.

Teresa and Geoff have a son, Geoffrey Jr., who is a recent graduate of Choctawhatchee High School. Teresa has two adult children, Alex (Dani) Barco and Ashleigh (Jimmy) Arnold. Teresa and Geoff love being “Sassy” and “G Pa” to their grandchildren Charlie, Amelia and James.

Dub & June Scroggin

Beach bums at heart, June and Dub Scroggin returned to the Emerald Coast in 2011 after a 13-year stint in Tucson, Arizona,  where Dub was a senior principal engineer with Raytheon Missile Systems and June was a proposal manager with Hewlett-Packard.

Both grew up in the military, Dub in the Air Force and June in the Army. Dub first arrived on the Miracle Strip is 1962 and went to Pryor and Choctaw. June was a North Carolina beach girl living in Atlanta when they met. They married in Fort Walton Beach on July 4, 1998. Dub has a BS from The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, and BS/MS from the University of West Florida in Pensacola. June earned her BA and MA from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington.

Though retired, both stay active in the community. Dub owns Dub Scroggin Photography and is a member of the Elks and American Legion. June is Rear Commodore at Fort Walton Yacht Club and serves on the boards of Republican Women of Okaloosa Federated, Fresh Start and FWB Ladies Golf Association. Between them, they have five children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, with two more on the way.

Bear Teusch & Abra McGill

Bear, an Indiana native, moved to Fort Walton Beach when stationed at Hurlburt Field. After the Air Force, he earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of West Florida. He is self-employed while working as a social worker with children and adults with developmental disabilities. Bear enjoys following FSU and Notre Dame football, and his beloved Chicago Cubs.

Bear joined the Krewe of Bowlegs in 2012 and has been active in various organizations, to include the FWB Jaycees, Red Cross and Special Olympics, and he has been affiliated with the All Sports Association since 2000. He has two daughters, Danielle Grace (29) and Emily Teusch (18). He is also a grandparent to his 9-year-old grandson, Aiden Alexander Grace.

Abra grew up as a military brat traveling across the country and graduated from Gulf Breeze High School. Abra earned her AA in Business Administration from Troy University. She has worked for the Okaloosa County Board of County Commissioners for 19 years as a program manager for numerous grants. She enjoys Disney World and cruises. She also has two daughters, Journey McGill (23) and Alaina McGill (17), who is an incoming Princess for the 67th Krewe of Bowlegs.

Bear and Abra met in 2013 and live in Shalimar. They will soon be Empty Nesters, and look forward to this adventurous world of piracy.

Tom Wright & Mary Alice Armstrong

A Florida native, Tom is the son of Chief Master Sgt. (USAF Ret.) Bynum and Albina Wright of Fort Walton Beach. He currently serves on the board of trustees for Northwest Florida State College, is on the governing board for Collegiate High School, is a director for the Institute for Senior Professionals, and is on the city of Niceville Library Foundation Board.

After graduating from Choctawhatchee High School and Florida State University with a master's in Biology, Tom served 32 years in the USAF before retiring as a major general. He is a command pilot, a graduate of the USAF F-15 Fighter Weapons School, and accumulated over 3,000 flying hours in the F-15, of which 430 are combat hours over Iraq. His avocations include surfing and fitness.

Mary Alice was born to the parents of Chief Master Sgt. (USAF Ret.) William Ralph and Mary C. Armstrong. Born in Fort Walton Beach, she graduated from Choctawhatchee High School and the University of West Florida. She spent her childhood riding and winning numerous national-level show horse jumping titles. Her ultimate dream was to compete in the Olympics. She also placed ninth in her division in the U.S. Open Sporting Clays.

She lived in Naples, Florida, for much of her adult life, where she excelled in sales and management positions within the auto industry. She recently ended her auto career, having been the sales manager for Porsche of Destin. Her avocations include spending time with friends and family, stand-up paddleboarding and, of course, Bowlegs.

Jason Zabelski & Wyn Mathews

Jason and Wyn are natives of the Emerald Coast. Jason graduated from Choctawhatchee High School. He is an avid fisherman and enjoys FSU football. He met Wyn in 2009, and they married in 2018.

Wyn graduated from FWBHS and then attended the University of West Florida, where she earned her BS in Finance.

Wyn is the granddaughter of Lynne and Charlie Mathews, First Mate & Mistress XXII and Queen XVI; niece of Queen Carlee Foster XXXVI and Cissy Brown XL, Captain Scotty Foster XL and Captain H. French Brown III XLIV. She served as a child of the court for Captain Herb Tinsley and Queen Carlee Foster XXXVI, as well as a Princess on the court for Captain Frank Robbins and Queen Alexis Tibbetts XLIX.

Jason and Wyn enjoy traveling, fishing, being on the water and spending time with their friends and family.
