Billy Bush calls his reaction to Trump comments a 'fateful laugh'

Wendy Williams sat down with Billy Bush and didn’t shy away from asking about the infamous 2005 Access Hollywood tape that almost cost Bush his career. The tape, which surfaced during the 2016 presidential election, featured audio of Bush laughing at vulgar comments made by Donald Trump. Trump, of course, went on to a job in the Oval Office, while Bush was dismissed from his duties as host of NBC’s Today. “Is there anything that you would have done differently in the back of the bus on that fateful day with our President Trump?” asked Williams. “I don’t know,” responded Bush, who is now working on Extra. “It’s a live moment and I wish... “When you’re in a moment, you’re in a moment and you don’t know how you’re going to react,” Bush told Williams. Williams said, “You didn’t say anything bad, you just laughed along with it.” “A fateful laugh,” replied Bush. Williams pressed Bush further, asking “Maybe you wouldn’t have laughed? You would have given him the stone face?” Bush admitted, “Yup. ‘You just said something so outrageous and I’m going to just stare at you,’” he said, speculating on what he would have done differently.
