Billy Donovan pleads for the Bulls to play with desperation

On Thursday, the Chicago Bulls suffered a second-straight disappointing defeat, falling to the Charlotte Hornets, 111-96, in an embarrassing blowout.

Charlotte outscored Chicago 64-41 in the second-half to jump out to a double-digit lead.

“We don’t have a margin for error at all,” Billy Donovan said after the loss. “And we’ve gotta be competitively the group that looks totally desperate.”

On Tuesday, the Bulls blew a 21-point first-half lead to the Indiana Pacers to fall 116-110 after getting outscored 70-48 in the second-half.

For the Bulls, they’re playoff hopes look bleak at the moment as they’re facing a franchise altering decision with the trade deadline less than three weeks away.

This current roster isn’t ready to compete, let alone secure a playoff spot as they sit as the No. 11 seed in the East, but Donovan isn’t ready to give up on this core group.

“We just gotta be desperate.”
