From Town & Country

At The Lion King's European premiere, all eyes were on Meghan Markle and Beyoncé's epic rendezvous—but Queen Bey wasn't the only celebrity who had a brush with royalty. While on the red (er, yellow) carpet, Meghan and Prince Harry took the time to shake hands with most of the cast. For some, it seemed like an easy, natural interaction; for Billy Eichner, it was not.

The comedian, who plays Timon in the remake, was caught on video as Harry and Meghan approached. The clip shows Eichner deciding what he wants to say to the royal couple. As he'll likely have only a few seconds, he's gotta make it count.

"I'm gonna say... I'm gonna say 'pleasure to meet you,'" he tells the camera. Then he backtracks. "Is that bad?" he asks. No, he decides; it is good. "I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it," he reaffirms.

Then, while watching a costar's successful interaction with Meghan and Harry, he loses his nerve. "I can't even say it," Eichner says, before apparently steeling himself for the royal couple's imminent arrival. The whole thing is extremely charming and extremely relatable—but then, so is Eichner.

Not everyone is born with the inhuman poise of Beyoncé, who seemed to glow during her conversation with Meghan. "The baby, so beautiful," Beyoncé said, of Archie. "We love you guys."

Sadly, there's no video of Meghan and Harry with Eichner, but we're willing to bet he pulled it off in the end.
