The Piano Man and the Queen of Rock and Roll will be coming to Columbus next summer.

Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks will embark on a tour together in 2023, including a stop at Ohio Stadium Aug. 5.

The announcement was made Thursday morning at the stadium by Gene Smith, senior vice president and Wolfe Foundation endowed athletics director, and representatives from concert promoters Live Nation. Ohio State mascot Brutus Buckeye then revealed Ohio State jerseys with the names of Joel and Nicks on them.

"Having two iconic performers in the Shoe will allow us to have such an impact on all the people of Ohio and those people in our contiguous states who come here to see these unbelievable performers," Smith said.

This is the first time Joel and Nicks will go on tour together. The Grammy Award-winning artists announced earlier this month their "‘Two Icons, One Night" tour, which starts in March in Inglewood, California. Other stops include Arlington, Texas and Nashville.

Tickets for the Columbus concert will go on sale Nov. 18 at 9 a.m. on the Ticketmaster and Live Nation websites. Citi card holders will have the opportunity to get their tickets in advance on Nov. 14. beginning at 10 a.m. and running until Nov. 16, said Barry Gabel, senior vice president of marketing and sponsorship at Live Nation.

Joel is the sixth best-selling recording artist of all time and third best-selling solo artist, according to Live Nation. He is known for his hits such as," Uptown Girl," "Piano Man," and "Just the Way You Are." The six-time Grammy winner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.

Meanwhile, Nicks is known for being one of the members of rock/pop band Fleetwood Mac and for her own solo career. The singer has sold more than 140 million albums and is the first woman to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice — once for Fleetwood Mac in 1998 and then again in 2019 as a solo artist.

The last time Joel played in Columbus was in 2009 with Elton John at Nationwide Arena, while Nicks performed there with Fleetwood Mac in 2018.
