Billy Joel postponed Monday’s concert at Madison Square Garden after being put on vocal rest due to a viral infection.

The sold-out concert, part of Joel’s monthly residency at the famed Manhattan arena, was rescheduled for June 2.

“I’m so sorry to let you know so close to show day, but I was hoping to be closer to a full recovery by now,” Joel said in an Instagram post Sunday, citing doctor’s orders. “Sadly, that hasn’t happened. I look forward to seeing you in the New Year.”

Joel, 73, began his Madison Square Garden residency in 2014 and has performed 85 concerts at the venue since. He’s played more than 130 shows at the Garden overall.

“The crowd is always great at the Garden,” Joel told the Daily News last year.

“We’ve been all over the world, and the Garden, we think, has the best ambiance for sound. And it’s just always exciting.”

Tickets for Monday’s postponed show will be honored at the new June date, organizers said.

Known for hits such as “Piano Man” and “Uptown Girl,” Joel is next scheduled to perform at MSG on Jan. 13.

The Grammy-winning Joel has several U.S. stadium concerts co-headlined by Stevie Nicks scheduled to take place next year as well, including stops in Los Angeles, North Texas, Philadelphia and Foxborough, Mass.
