Biltmore Estate Introduces New Pop-Up Shopping Experience for Christmas

The holiday season might look a little bit different at Biltmore this year, but the coronavirus pandemic isn’t stopping the Asheville landmark from celebrating its 125th Christmas in style.

Though Christmas at Biltmore officially kicks off with a virtual tree raising on November 4, this year, America's largest home is helping proactive elves get a jump-start on their shopping with an all-new Christmas pop-up shop.

The Christmas at Biltmore Pop-Up Shop is the first of its kind at Biltmore. Open October 17 through January 9, the pop-up will be located in the estate’s European-inspired town, Antler Hill Village. You can find it in The Biltmore Legacy, the exhibition space within the Village that was most recently a stop in the beloved Downton Abbey exhibition.

Antler Hill Village offers visits with Santa, a farmyard, outdoor fire pits, and a botanical model train display. Like the rest of the property, this part of the estate undergoes a Christmas transformation which features light-wrapped trees, waterfall lights, a sparkling tunnel leading to the Winery, wreaths, and other festive décor.

“Our goal was to transform the space into a winter wonderland shopping environment, filled with special décor touches, gift finds, as well as food and wine, making it a perfect place to stock up on everything needed to celebrate the season in your home or to shop for friends and family,” a Biltmore representative told Southern Living.
