Binghamton woman dies in weekend car-motorcycle crash in Tioga County Town of Richford

A Binghamton woman was killed Saturday when her motorcycle collided with a car in northern Tioga County.

The crash took place around 4:25 p.m. on state Route 79 in the Town of Richford, north of Newark Valley, according to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office identified the victim as Maria T. Hrehor, 50 of Binghamton.

Hrehor was thrown from her bike upon impact with the car, investigators said. Witnesses to the crash attempted life-saving measures but Hrehor was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tioga County Coroner’s Office.

Details of the crash are still under investigation and no information was available about the cause of the crash or the status of the other driver.

The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Tioga County Crash Investigative Unit, New York State Police, Broome County Sheriff’s Office and Maine EMS.
