HOPKINTON, MA — The town celebrated the opening of a new bioscience facility in Hopkinton on Wednesday.
Lykan Bioscience opened its facility at 97 South St. The space was previously unoccupied and the company spent $10 million to renovate it.
At the grand opening ceremony, Select Board Chair Brenden Tedstone said, "This partnership between the Town, Lykan and the state of MA is about creating jobs, diverse jobs paying living wages, especially at a time when they are most needed in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic."
Lykan is a privately owned manufacturing services organization that was formed in 2019. The facility is set to create 125 new jobs between now and 2023.
Lykan has a planned partnership with Hopkinton science teachers and graduates to work on STEM projects.
