BIRMINGHAM, AL — Plenty of affordable housing is available for sale in today's market in Birmingham, and despite the coronavirus pandemic, the real estate market in the area has been fairly solid.

But what about house hunters who want that luxurious dream home or that million-dollar estate?

Those are available too.

Within the Birmingham city limits, actually, a million dollars goes much further in the real estate market and can buy much more house than what is available in bordering municipalities. As well, many of the high-priced homes in Birmingham have significant historical value, as several are even on the Jefferson County Historic Registry.

Here are the most expensive homes currently on the market within the Birmingham city limits, according to Realtor.com:

2509 Lanark Road: $1.5 million

3007 Dundee Circle: $1.5 million

5210 Mountain Ridge Parkway: $1.4 million

3520 Redmont Road: $1.3 million

3228 Carlisle Road: $1.2 million
