Christina Bishop, Director of Operations at Elder Care in Bartlesville, will serve on the 2023 FEMA Board in Nowata County.

“The FEMA board of directors consists of civic and community advocates who direct FEMA funds to provide relief in a crisis or emergency, or to provide day-to-day support for individuals who need funds to pay for rent, utilities, food, temporary shelter and transportation,” she said.

In Nowata County, public assistance is available for relief from state, local, tribal, and territorial governments and certain private non-profit organizations in counties eligible for assistance for emergency work and repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities.

“This is an opportunity to work with a wide variety of community leaders from Northeastern Oklahoma and find ways we can assist rural communities and individuals to relieve emergency needs. It is an honor to serve,” Bishop said.

She has been with Elder Care for 16 years, serving in a variety of management roles. Most recently, she assumed the additional duty of DayBreak Adult Day Health & Activity Center Director at Elder Care.
