‘It’s bittersweet;’ Landes Fresh Meats to close retail stores
A historic butcher shop has announced it will close its retail store in Clayton.
Landes Fresh Meats announced in a social media post on Jan. 4 that the company will be permanently closing its retail shop to make room for current and future demand.
The social media post said as the brand continues to find its way on grocery shelves, it will need the shop for processing and packaging space.
The store will close on Jan. 13.
“It was a difficult decision to decide to close our retail store because our customers have meant the world to us and our family. It will be a sad day to close the store. It is bittersweet because change is hard, but it’s ultimately the right thing and will allow us to focus on a growing part of our business,” the social media post reads.
The company dates back more than 80 years.
