Black Bear Coffee Co. set to open new location in Fletcher
Black Bear Coffee Co. is set to serve up some caffeine and sweet treats to-go at a new location in Fletcher.
The local business made the announcement Sept. 29 through a social media post. The new spot will be located at 144 Hoopers Creek Road, the former home of Hooper’s Creek Grocery.
The Fletcher location will be a baking facility with counter service for takeout.
“We will make fresh croissants and danishes, muffins, cookies, scones, and afternoon desserts, along with much more,” Black Bear Coffee Co. said in a Facebook post. “We can’t wait to open and start serving you soon!”
An opening date will be announced at a later date. Customers are encouraged to follow along on social media for updates.
The local business received many positive comments after announcing the expansion, including those excited to see the former grocery store start a new chapter.
“I bet the Wilkie sisters never dreamed their grocery store and beauty shop would be a coffee house! Thank you for restoring this building and not tearing it down,” one commenter wrote.
Black Bear Coffee Co.’s original location is at 318 N. Main St. In Hendersonville. In addition to the brick-and-mortar locations, Black Bear also offers booking options for the black bear trailer, black bear van and drop-off services. Booking details can be found online.
The company has served the area since 1993, according to Black Bear’s website. The local coffee shop came under new ownership in summer 2019. The business received a shout-out earlier this year in Southern Living's South's Best Mountain Towns of 2022 list.
