Black bear spotted in Newton neighborhood

A black bear has been spotted in a Newton neighborhood.

According to Newton Police, the bear was spotted in the Newton Highlands area near Cold Springs Park.

Police are watching the bear’s location and environmental police have been notified.

Police are asking to not approach the bear and keep a safe distance.
