Black Friday store ads 2019: Get a jump on holiday shopping plans with early look at ads

It's the week of Thanksgiving and nearly all major retailers' Black Friday ads have either been officially released or leaked.

Some sales also are getting underway including Best Buy and Kohl's.

With Thanksgiving Day falling on Nov. 28 this year – the latest it can possibly be – someads were released later than in past years.

For the second year, Kohl's was the first major retailer to release its Black Friday ad, which it did on Nov. 1 – the same day as in 2018.

Kmart, Sears and Office Depot followed on Nov. 4 and Target dropped its ad two days later on Nov. 6. Both Best Buy and J.C. Penney unveiled their doorbuster deals Nov. 7.

The later Thanksgiving also means there are six fewer days shopping days between the holiday and Christmas than there were in 2018.

With few exceptions, many major retailers plan to kick off their in-store Black Friday sales on Thanksgiving.

Here are the major Black Friday ads that have been released. Check back often as we will continue to update with more sales circulars as they are released.

Amazon

From Nov. 22 through Nov. 29, Amazon shoppers can nab discounts of up to 40% on Legos, Barbie dolls and other toys. During the same time period, they get can get up to half off on Lands’ End branded apparel and accessories, and additional Black Friday deals on products ranging from the Amazon Echo Show to items for the home.

Bed Bath & Beyond

Bed Bath & Beyond is bucking its longtime tradition of staying closed on Thanksgiving and, for the first time ever, the New Jersey-based home goods retailer will kick off its in-store Black Friday sale on the holiday. Thanksgiving Day and early Black Friday shoppers can get a coupon for 25% off their purchase. Learn more about Bed Bath & Beyond's holiday plans here.

Best Buy

Best Buy revealed its Black Friday sale circular Thursday, kicking off hundreds of early deals available through Sunday, Nov. 10. For the sixth year, most stores will open at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving and close at 1 a.m. Friday. Stores will then reopen at 8 a.m. Black Friday. Learn more about Best Buy's sale here.

Costco

The members-only warehouse club is holding its holiday sale in five windows, with some deals available now and others continuing through Cyber Monday (Dec. 2). Costco is closed on Thanksgiving, but some of its Black Friday doorbusters will begin online that day including deals on televisions, electronics, gaming systems, jewelry, food and more. J.C. Penney

Keeping with tradition, J.C. Penney will kick off its Black Friday sale at 2 p.m. Thanksgiving Day with a mystery coupon giveaway and chance to score a $500 shopping spree. There are deals on small appliances, toys and clothing. Learn more about J.C. Penney's Black Friday ad here.

Home Depot

Home Depot's stores won't be open on Thanksgiving but shoppers can click and snag Black Friday deals online starting at 6 a.m. on the holiday.

Those who prefer to brave the crowds can head to the home goods retailer on Black Friday, when doors open at 6 am.

Deals include a Google Home mini that'll cost you $10 in story if you buy certain other merchandise, and discounts of up to $100 when you bundle together purchases of some smart home items, according to BlackFriday.com.

Kmart

Kmart's Black Friday ad is the same size as in 2018 but the retailer's store footprint is smaller after many rounds of closings in the last year with 45 more stores set to close in February. The liquidation at these stores is set to start after Black Friday on Dec. 2. Kmart stores will be open 6 a.m. to midnight Thanksgiving and reopen 6 a.m. Black Friday. Kohl's

Kohl's is bringing back its $15 Kohl's Cash for its Black Friday sale starting on Nov. 25 and continuing through Black Friday. Limited doorbusters will be available starting at 12:01 a.m. CST Thanksgiving Day online ahead of the in-store sale. The in-store sale continues through 1 p.m. local time on Black Friday, Nov. 29, and while supplies last Friday online. Learn more about Kohl's sale here.

Lowe's

Lowe's shared a copy of its Black Friday ad exclusively with USA TODAY Nov. 14. Stores will remain closed on Thanksgiving and will open 6 a.m. Black Friday. Learn more about Lowe's Black Friday sale here.

Macy's

Macy's will be open on Thanksgiving and some deals will start earlier. However, the 13 in-store items that are free after rebate won't be available until Thanksgiving. Learn more about Macy's sale here.

Office Depot

Office Depot and OfficeMax stores are staying closed on Thanksgiving but will kick off the online sale at 12:01 a.m. ET Nov. 28 and then the in-store sale begins 8 a.m. Nov. 29. Closed on Thanksgiving 2019: Costco, Sam's Club, Nordstrom, Home Depot keep with tradition

Sam’s Club

Like other wholesale clubs, Sam’s Club will be closed on Thanksgiving. According to the ad posted at www.samsclub.com/blackfriday on Nov. 15, stores will open at 7 a.m. Black Friday and discounts will be available through Dec. 1.

Sears

Sears' Black Friday ad is larger than last year's ad even though its store footprint continues to shrink with 51 more Sears set to shutter in February. The new stores set to close are expected to participate in Black Friday sales as the liquidation begins on Dec. 2. Originally Sears released a smaller ad on Nov. 4 without appliance deals but the ad was expanded on Nov. 20. Learn more about Sears' Black Friday ad here.

Staples

Office supply store Staples released a sneak peek of its Black Friday ad Nov. 10. For the fifth year, the Massachusetts-based retailer will keep its stores closed on Thanksgiving but will kick off the sale online early Nov. 28 with items available for in-store pickup and delivery. Starbucks

Starbucks has revealed its Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, which include $40 Brewed Refill Tumblers, what it calls "the gift that keeps on giving" and a free digital gift card with purchase on Cyber Monday. Learn more about Starbucks' deals here.

Target

Target shoppers with a RedCard and members of the new Target Circle loyalty program get early access to deals Wednesday, Nov. 27. Stores open 5 p.m. Thanksgiving. Learn more about Target's sale here.

Walmart
