Black Friday 2023: When are stores, shopping centers open in the Lower Hudson Valley?

After full houses and full stomachs on Thanksgiving comes the mad dash for Christmas shopping and Black Friday deals. Here's your guide to all the stores and shopping centers across the Lower Hudson Valley that are open on Nov. 24 for Black Friday.

National stores

Big chain department stores like Target, Best Buy and Walmart are some places for getting the perfect new TV set or the hottest toy on the market this year.

Many of these stores have made the decision to close on Thanksgiving Day, but are still open early on Black Friday. These stores have nationwide sales at every location, so be sure to find the closest one near you.

Target: Target stores nationwide may now be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but shoppers will still be able to shop in store on Friday, Nov. 24. for deals on everything from electronics to home appliances. Holiday deals began on Oct. 22 and will continue until Dec. 24. Most stores will open at 7 a.m., but may vary depending on location.

Walmart: Walmart also made the decision to keep its stores closed on Thanksgiving Day after first closing during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, stores will be open nationwide on Nov. 24 with most stores opening at 6 a.m. Some Black Friday deals begin at 3 p.m. and Walmart+ members can get a head start on deals at noon.

Best Buy: Best Buy stores won't be open on Thanksgiving Day but will be open on Black Friday. The company said many stores will be open for extended holiday hours, but each store will set their own schedules, so make sure to check your local store hours before running to buy that new flatscreen TV.

Kohl's: Kohl's is appealing to the early birds this year with Black Friday hours starting at 5 a.m. Holiday deals officially kicked off on Nov. 3, with a special week of savings starting Monday, Nov. 20. Stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.

Macy’s: Perhaps the most famous name in holiday shopping, the department store will also be closed on Thanksgiving. But Black Friday deals have already started with Early Access savings, ending Nov. 18. Stores will open nationwide on Nov. 24 at 6 a.m.

Costco: The wholesale retailer has early Black Friday deals from Monday, Nov. 13 to Mon. Nov 27. Stores will be open on Thanksgiving as well as Black Friday, but hours vary by location.

Local shopping centers

Cross County Center, Yonkers: The Cross County Center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Black Friday. Individual retailers may run on independent schedules, which are available on the shopping center's website. The website also includes a list of stores with active sales.

Palisades Center Mall, West Nyack: The Palisades Center will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will be open on Black Friday from 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Individual stores hours are available on the shopping center's website.

The Westchester, White Plains: The shopping center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will be open on Nov. 24 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Individual stores hours are available on the shopping center's website.

Jefferson Valley Mall, Yorktown Heights: The Jefferson Valley Mall will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will reopen on Black Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Individual store hours may vary.

Woodbury Commons, Central Valley: The outlet center will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will open on Nov. 24 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Individual stores hours are available on the shopping center's website.
