Black Friday in Fayetteville 2023: Store hours at the mall, Target, Walmart, Macy's, more

Stores locally and nationwide hold extended store hours and deep discounts on Black Friday.

Though many already rolled out Black Friday deals in-store and online, the day after Thanksgiving is often considered the kick-off to the holiday shopping season.

About a third of shoppers plan to brave crowds on Black Friday this year, according to a November Drive Research report.

Clothing and accessories, electronics, health and beauty, toys, household appliances and sports and leisure goods are expected to be among the most-purchased items, per the same report.

Here’s a look at what to expect on Black Friday around Fayetteville.

When are major retailers in Fayetteville open on Black Friday?

Academy Sports & Outdoors: 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Barnes & Noble: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Best Buy: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Belk: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

BJ’s Wholesale: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Cross Creek Mall: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Dick’s House of Sport: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Hobby Lobby: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Homegoods: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

JCPenney: 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Kohl’s: 5 a.m. to midnight

Macy’s: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Marshall’s: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Old Navy: 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Petsmart: 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sam’s Club: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Target: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

TJ Maxx: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Where are the best deals?

A study by finance company WalletHub analyzed 3,500 of this year's Black Friday ads from 13 of the biggest U.S. retailers to find the stores with the best average discounts. JCPenney tops the list for the fifth year in a row.

  • JCPenney, 59.12%

  • Macy's, 58.19%

  • Belk, 54.76%

  • Kohl's, 48.81%

  • Target, 32.70%

  • BJ's, 30.11%

  • Best Buy, 29.78%

  • Amazon, 28.48%

  • Walmart, 26.88%

  • Dell, 25.79%

The report also suggests that shoppers aim to get at least a 35% discount — the overall average discount — on items sold on Black Friday.
