Eugene Springfield NAACP re-scheduled Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. March

  • What: Eugene-Springfield NAACP is hosting the annual MLK March, which was originally scheduled on Jan. 15 but was canceled due to the ice storm.

  • Where: Autzen Stadium at 2700 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd

  • When: Monday, Feb. 19 at 9 a.m.

  • Who: No admission. The event is free

Black Youth Mental Health Leadership Mixer

  • What: Are you a black youth passionate about mental health? NAACP is welcoming you to share your voice, build skills, and become a champion for change. Through this opportunity, participants will be able to engage with their peers, connect with mentors, and gain valuable leadership training.

  • Where: RSVP on Zoom

  • When: Monday, Feb. 19 at 12-1:30 p.m.

  • Who: Black youth ages 14 to 21

Celebrate Black History with Black Cultural Initiative

  • What: Black Cultural Initiative is celebrating black history through African Heritage Education and Empowerment. A guided community conversation will begin at 5:30 p.m. to address the topic: "What does Black History mean to me?" This will be a family-friendly event that will include cultural arts and crafts for kids, music, and food.

  • Where:1695 Jefferson Street in Eugene

  • When: Saturday, Feb. 24 at 4-7 p.m.

  • Who: Admission is free and all are welcome.

Adventure! Children's Museum

  • What: Adventure! Children's Museum is celebrating Black History Month through art and color. Children can color and learn in the Art Lab where they can add their dream to Dr. King's Dream Mobile. Kids can also enjoy a selection of biography books in their WhyBrary featuring change-makers and fictional books.

  • Where: Adventure! Children's Museum at 490 Valley River Center.

  • When: All month-long in February.

  • Who: Admission for children aged two years old or older is $7. Admission for adults is also $7.

Downtown Springfield Second Friday ArtWalk

  • What: The City Hall Art Gallery will present art from the MLK Celebration Youth Art event, which was canceled due to January's ice storm. In the Young Artists' Gallery is the Exhibit "Creating Peace in Our Communities" by winners of the Springfield Martin Luther King Jr. Art Contest.

  • Where: Springfield City Hall Art Gallery at 225 5th Street

  • When: Friday, Feb. 9 at 5-7:30 p.m.

  • Who: Admission is free and anybody is welcome.
