NORTHERN MICHIGAN — With a goal of raising money for Black entrepreneurs and business owners, the 2023 Ride for Equity is on, with seven days of bike rides for people to participate in.

Hosted by Black Leaders Detroit, the 7-day ride will take bicyclists from Detroit to Mackinaw City. This is the third time the group has hosted the event.

The ride starts in Detroit on May 21 at the University of Detroit Mercy, with a ceremonial ride from Detroit to Ferndale, and then back to the university. After a “Ferndale Farewell,” riders will be able to continue the route and head up to Flint for a 67-mile-long ride. Riders will receive a jersey and nutrition for the ride.

On May 22, the event will continue for a 59-mile-long ride from Flint to Saginaw, and then for another 59 miles from Saginaw to Clare on May 23.
