Black Smoke Rises From Deadly Fire at Crosby Chemical Plant

One person was killed and several were injured in an incident that resulted in a fire at a chemical plant in Crosby, Texas, on April 2, according to a statement from the company, KCMO, released by the Harris County Fire Marshal.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said, “a transfer line ignited in the area of a tank with Isobutylene and the tank caught on fire. An adjacent storage building with solid goods also caught fire.”

Sheriff Gonzalez said fire officials were working to contain the fire. Local schools were instructed to shelter in place, according to the Harris County Constable.
