There is nothing Black women can’t do. Black women win tennis championships. Black women dominate music charts. Now, Black women are taking over surfing.

Black women surfing are not just engaging in the sport, they are shattering stereotypes and leaving a mark on the very exclusive world of surfing. From the coastlines of Africa to the shores of the Americas, Black women are freeing themselves in the water. The best part about it is that it’s being documented, allowing non-surfing followers to get insight into the world of surfing.

Pages like Black Girl’s Surf on Instagram showcase the immense talent that Black women have when it comes to surfing. There are a slew of Black women on social media who are sharing their surfing journeys, inspiring others to do the same.
