Blackhawk students to sing with Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra
PITTSBURGH – Seven students from Blackhawk High School will sing at Heinz Hall with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
James Coble, Isabella Ford, Adelaide Hopkins, Skye Lanham, Iley Tweed, Joshua Ziegler and Bronwyn Zoppelt were chosen to sing in the Hamlisch-Page Student Choir on Feb. 17-19, for the symphony’s performance of “The Music of John Williams."

The Pittsburgh Symphony's student chorale was created by the-late Principal Pops Conductor Marvin Hamlisch and Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh Music Director Emeritus Robert Page.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for the students," Maura Saint, choral director at Blackhawk, said. "They get to experience working with esteemed conductors Christine Hestwood and Lawrence Loh and performing with the world-renowned Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra."
The Hamlisch-Page Student Choir performances will feature 39 students from six high schools and two universities in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.
Those other schools are North Hills, McKeesport, Upper St. Clair, Belle Vernon and Penn Hills high schools and PennWest California and Chatham universities.
