Veterans Day: Spotlight 29 is celebrating Veterans Day on Friday at its outdoor venue Coachella Crossroads, and the event will feature live music by country star Blake Shelton. Country singers Granger Smith and Mackenzie Porter will also appear.

Shelton's career has been wildly successful since his 2001 self-titled debut album and several chart-topping singles. The Grand Ole Opry made Shelton a member in 2010 and in 2011, Rolling Stone named him "one of country music's biggest stars over the past decade." After 23 seasons on the reality TV competition "The Voice," Shelton announced in October he's leaving the show after the spring 2023 season.

All active duty military and veterans are offered a 25% discount for tickets purchased at Spotlight 29 and Tortoise Rock casinos.

Jazz: The Palm Springs Women's Jazz Festival is returning Friday through Sunday at the Palm Springs Convention Center after a three-year hiatus due to COVID-19. This year's lineup features Nnenna Freelon, Cyrille Aimee, Lea Delaria and Ledisi.

Dance: The Palm Desert Choreography Festival is celebrating its 25th year on Saturday and Sunday at the McCallum Theatre. The festival provides a stage for dancemakers and dancers to perform their work. Finalists will compete throughout the weekend with entries from companies across the U.S.
