Blake's uncle calls for nonviolent civic uprising

The uncle of a Black man shot in the back by a white police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last summer is calling for a "nonviolent civic uprising" (Jan. 6)

Video Transcript

JUSTIN BLAKE: It was a very historical day yesterday because the ramifications of the decisions that were made will greatly impact every African-American in the city of Kenosha, in the county, and in the state.

JUSTIN BLAKE: We're encouraging-- the family, the Blake family's encouraging a non-violent civic uprising to let them know we're not going to allow them to come in our community any longer and terrorize our citizens and our young people. If this guy can get away with what he did, then that means it's open season on African-Americans and we're not going to tolerate that, we're not going to stand by for that.
