In a solid back-to-back performance against Clark, the Centralia College softball team defeated the Penguins in a doubleheader sweep Friday afternoon in Centralia, 7-4 and 11-7.
The Trailblazers had to come back from a tough fourth inning, and trailing 4-2, scored five unanswered runs to win the game in the fifth and sixth innings, 7-4.
Starting in the circle for the Blazers was Paige Bryant, who threw six innings and had two runs pinned against her with a pair of strikeouts. Centralia High School grad Ella Orr went 2 for 4 with a run scored and two big RBIs, and former Adna star Kaylee Ashley drove in another run on a base knock as well for Centralia.
In the second game — an 11-7 win — Bryant got the start, but Pe Ell graduate Ava Bush finished things out on the rubber, pitching the last four innings with one unearned run allowed on four hits with a strikeout.
Bush also starred at the plate, driving in three runs on a triple, and Kylie Baker smashed a home run to score three as well for the Blazers. Ashley and Orr also went 2 for 4 in the second game, after strong first games.
The Blazers will look to continue their run of success against Grays Harbor on the road Saturday at Noon and 2 p.m.
