Blenders Eyewear releasing Aztecs sunglasses with proceeds benefiting Men’s Basketball

SAN DIEGO — After massive success this past college football season partnering with Coach Prime, Blenders Eyewear is now releasing limited edition Aztecs shades with all proceeds directly impacting the Men’s Basketball program.

“Obviously this is a full circle moment,” said Chase Fisher, founder & CEO of Blenders Eyewear.

Twelve years ago this coming March, Blenders Eyewear launched on the SDSU campus as a passion project by Fisher — an Aztecs alum.

“You know, I built this brand right here at San Diego State,” said Fisher. “Fresh out of college I launched at an entrepreneur fair. The first pair was ‘The Show’ resembling San Diego State student section and so today is about celebrating the 12-year anniversary.”

Now the Pacific Beach resident is giving back to the school that started it all. He’s partnering with the Mesa Foundation to release “twelves” an Aztec inspired pair of sunglasses with all sales going directly to impact the Men’s Basketball program.

“This school has given me so much, I built such an amazing network here,” continued Fisher. “It’s my home, my family. I’m proud and stoked to be in a position to work with the players on this level and give back in a meaningful way.”

“One of the coolest things for us is that this has been one of those full circle moments for him,” said Jeff Smith, president of the Mesa Foundation.“ Being at his age and having the success that he’s had, I’m sure the Coach Prime and the Colorado thing was amazing for him. Now he gets to go affect something in his backyard that means a lot to him, and I think it’s a perfect partnership.”

While San Diego awaits the limited release, Blenders Eyewear sold more than 2 million pairs last year alone, including nearly 200,000 units of the Coach Prime lenses.
