PETOSKEY — The Blissfest Music Organization is back to providing live music and shows with returning favorite Steve Poltz.

Poltz — noted by NPR as a “talented and prolific songwriter" — has been performing for over two decades and has 13 solo records under his belt, which have been performed in venues across the world.

Throughout Poltz’s tenure as a performing musician, he’s done it all. He got his start as the frontman for the underground band The Rugburns who toured the continent, has performed in festivals and venues across the world and even co-wrote Jewel’s multiplatinum Hot 100-topping hit “You Were Meant For Me."

“Steve Poltz is one of the best performers around,” said Blissfest talent buyer Caroline Barlow.

“Your day will inevitably become brighter after being in his presence and after hearing his music,” she said.

Poltz has been on tour across the country for most of 2020 and is coming to Michigan for a string of dates after having just been in Canada for a string of shows through New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

He also has a brand new single out titled “Conveyor Belt” that talks about the passing of time. The song will be featured on his upcoming album “Stardust & Satellites” slated to be released in February next year.

“In the dark nights of Northern Michigan, especially in early December, Poltz is just who I want to hear,” said Barlow.

“He’s a great troubadour and storyteller. Those not familiar with him are also sure to have a great time with his humorous demeanor and stage presence,” she said.

The upcoming show with Poltz will take place at the Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey with doors opening at 7 p.m. and the show starting at 7:30 p.m. The show also coincides with the downtown Petoskey Holiday Open House. Make a night of it all and enjoy a show alongside Christmas activities spread throughout downtown Petoskey.

Tickets for the upcoming show as $25 per person for non members and $20 per person for members of the Blissfest Music Organization. Tickets can be purchased at blissfest.org or at showclix.com/event/steve-poltz-.
