Blitzen's returns to Hudson's Restaurant for fifth year
Blitzen’s, Hudson’s only holiday pop-up bar, returns for its fifth year in Hudson.
Five years ago, brothers Kevin and JJ Altomare decided to decorate the bar area of Hudson’s Restaurant as a holiday pop-up bar. Decorating starts in early November, with every wall of the restaurant covered in holiday fabric. A train circles part of the dining room above the patrons’ tables, and holiday decorations cover every inch of the entire restaurant. A local artist has created a holiday inspired chalkboard; this year’s theme was based on Santa’s Ornament Factory.
Blitzen’s serves holidayinspired cocktails including Frosty’s Toddy, Chocolate Candy Cane, Merry-Rita, Mrs. Claus’ Rum Punch serves 4, and the White Christmas to name a few. The new souvenir mugs available this year are the Ralphie Bunny Mug, Leg Lamp Crate Mug, and Leg Lamp Glasses.
Blitzen’s Bites are served as well in addition to the Hudson’s Restaurant menu. Blitzen’s serves its specialty drinks and snacks every Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. or until Santa calls it a night through December 30. It will b closed on Christmas.
Blitzen’s Holiday Pop-up bar is inside Hudson’s Restaurant at 80 N. Main St.
