Taylor Swift Ex Conor Kennedy Gets Arrested at White House

While Taylor Swift dances in shopping carts and dresses up like Harry Styles, her summer fling – high schooler Conor Kennedy – is paving a path to a politically active future … as is his birthright.

The 18-year-old Kennedy scion, who had a short-lived romance with the country singer last summer, was arrested at the White House on Wednesday – alongside his famous father, environmental lawyer and political activist Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a rep for the United States Park Police confirms to omg!.

Father and son were among dozens other protesters – including actress Daryl Hannah – who attached themselves to the White House gate in an act of civil disobedience to bring attention to the issue of climate change. The group was demanding that President Obama reject the Keystone XL oil pipeline, which they say would carry “dirty oil” that contributes to global warming.

A total of 48 protesters were arrested in all outside 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, but, as Conor and Bobby were led away, they were both cheered by name.

Conor – whose mother, Bobby’s estranged wife Mary Richardson Kennedy, committed suicide last year – first made headlines last summer when he was linked to Swift, 24, during a Fourth of July getaway at the Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Massachusetts. Their relationship attracted plenty of attention all summer as they were photographed frolicking on the shores of Cape Cod and going on yachting excursions with the extended Kennedy famous.

Despite how young the couple was, Kennedy matriarch Ethel even prematurely spoke out about how she “should be so lucky” to have Swift become part of the family. And Swift – who we all know plunges head first into every relationship – reportedly plunked down $4.5 million for her own house across from the famed compound.

However, as the summer ended and Conor returned to high school – yes, he’s still in high school! – the relationship fizzled. Swift visited the curly-haired John F. Kennedy Jr. lookalike at his boarding school, Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts, but it was over soon after.

The songstress quickly rebounded with One Direction singer Styles, who is also 18, but that didn’t last long either.
