Bacon donut a huge hit for Yorkville bakery

"Mmmm. Move over, eggs. Bacon just got a new best friend …"

—Homer Simpson

CHICAGO (CBS) — Homer needs to get out of Springfield and head over to the Cobblestone Bakery in Yorkville.

There, bacon lovers can rejoice—with the Maple Bacon Donut.

It's a yeast donut with lots of maple frosting and topped with crispy fried bacon. Oh, then more maple frosting.

Chef Jessica Rachael Conover told the Beacon News that she got the idea from a place called Voodoo Donuts in Oregon.

Calories? Why bother to ask. Conover says it sells out every time it's on the menu.
