Blood Drive Donors Will Get Free Coronavirus Antibody Test

ORLAND PARK, IL — Donors who take part in the American Red Cross blood drive planned for the Lexus of Orland dealership next week will receive a free COVID-19 antibody test, according to a media alert from Lexus' communication team. The antibody test will take place while the Red Cross tests their blood.

The blood drive, planned for noon to 6 p.m. at Lexus of Orland, 8300 W. 159th St. in Orland Park, was planned in response to "the growing need for blood donations" amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"In the United States, someone needs blood every two seconds, and every donation can save up to three lives," Lexus said in its media alert. "Volunteer donors are the only source of blood for those in need."

Volunteers should register online here ahead of time or through the Blood Donor American Red Cross mobile app.
