The community of Uvalde, Texas, is reeling after a gunman killed 19 children and two teachers at an elementary school Tuesday.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said the shooter walked into Robb Elementary School in Uvalde around noon Central time and opened fire. The shooter was killed by responding police, Abbott said.

Uvalde is a city of about 16,000 people about 80 miles west of San Antonio.

Here is how you can help the community of Uvalde.

Donate through GoFundMe

The crowdfunding website GoFundMe has set up a central donation page for family aid.

“Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by (Tuesday's) school shooting. At GoFundMe, we are working around the clock to ensure the families receive the support they need,”  GoFundMe said in a written statement.

One of the pools, started by California-based nonprofit Victims First, had raised more than $2 million by Thursday morning.

LULAC sets up fund for victims

The League of United Latin American Citizens has set up a fundraiser to help support the community of Uvalde, Texas.

"Where 90 percent of the students of Robb Elementary School identify as Hispanics and more than four-fifths are economically disadvantaged, this community needs our collective prayers, help, and support," LULAC said in a release.

'United with Uvalde' Fund

United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County has set up a “United with Uvalde” fund to support the victims families and survivors of the shooting.

"When a tragedy like this happens, it is imperative that we show those affected that they are not alone. They should not have to navigate these unimaginable circumstances by themselves," United Way of San Antonio said in a release.

A portion of the MacKenzie Scott Transformational Gift was used to create the fund.

Austin restaurants donate portion of sales

Two big hospitality and restaurant groups in Austin have announced they intend to contribute money to relief efforts in Uvalde following the mass shooting at Robb Elementary in the South Texas town.

Via 313 will donate 10% of all sales at its Texas locations on Thursday to a selection of verified GoFundMe campaigns that has been established to assist the families in Uvalde.

You can donate blood

Emergency blood drives have been set up to support the victims of the shooting.

South Texas Blood and Tissue hosted an emergency blood drive at the Herby Ham Activity Center Wednesday.

"Our hearts are with the Uvalde community," South Texas Blood and Tissue said.

You can schedule an appointment here, but the organization tweeted Wednesday that donor rooms are booked through Saturday.

University Health encourages the community to consider donating blood.

"Your donation can help ensure we have supplies immediately available for the victims of this tragic shooting," University Health said in a tweet.

Volunteer attorneys needed

San Antonio Legal Services Association is calling for attorney volunteers.

Volunteers will assist Uvalde shooting victims and their families with legal services.

Licensed attorneys in Texas can send their availability through June and area of practice to uvalderesponse@sa-lsa.org.

City of Uvalde seeking donations for medical expenses

First State Bank of Uvalde sets up donation account

A Robb Elementary Memorial Fund account has been opened at First State Bank of Uvalde for the families of Robb Elementary as well, according to a tweet from the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District.

Those who wish to donate can do so at any branch. Checks can also be mailed to 200 E Nopal St., Uvalde, Texas 78801. Donors can also send money on Zelle to robbschoolmemorialfund@gmail.com.

The shooting is the deadliest school shooting in Texas history, and the third deadliest school shooting in modern U.S. history.
