Give your blood for free Texas Rangers tickets during drive at Globe Life Field

Give blood. Save lives. Win free Rangers tickets.

Join the Texas Rangers and Carter BloodCare on Saturday, July 2 at Globe Life Field in Arlington as they team up for a community blood drive.

Donors will receive a voucher for two upper-level tickets to a 2022 Rangers game, while supplies last.

Blood donations often drop during the summer months as students go on break. High school blood drives account for up to 25% of the community blood supply, according to a release from the Rangers.

Donors help people in urgent need of transfusions, including trauma patients, those undergoing cancer treatments, and others, the release stated.

The blood drive is scheduled for 9 a.m.-5 p.m. To reserve a spot and corresponding time, go to carterbloodcare.org or call 800-366-2834. For a direct link to the schedule, go to ww3.greatpartners.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/128596.

Donors can park in Lot A at Globe Life Field, enter through the West VIP entrance, and go to the event in The High Ball Lounge and 4.21 Food Hall, which are located on the upper concourse behind first base.

Not your ordinary billboards

Ever wonder what all those artistic and creative billboards are sprinkled around the city in place of the usual ads?

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth has been extending its reach into urban landscapes with contemporary artworks and cultural curiosities on billboards instead of traditional commercial advertising.

”Modern Billings XI” opened its exhibition in outdoor spaces on Friday, June 24; it will continue through Aug. 7.

Using space from Clear Channel Outdoor as programming sites, Modern Billings XI features artists Margaret Meehan and Andrea Tosten with their works shown in under-served communities along the edges of downtown Fort Worth.

This version of Modern Billings places the large-scale installations along a stretch of Jacksboro Highway northwest of downtown.

Meehan, a Virginia-based artist, references the Greek myth of Cassandra for this exhibit as a way to empower women and femme identified individuals.

Tosten, of Dallas, references the use of paper, thread, and ink to display words and symbols that entice viewers to look them up and learn the history associated with them.
