Bloom-Carroll's Dylan Armentrout repeats as Columbus area high school athlete of the week

In a vote that ended Dec. 2, Dispatch.com readers selected the Athlete of the Week for competitions that took place from before Nov. 27.

The winner, for the second consecutive week, is Bloom-Carroll football player Dylan Armentrout.

Arementrout rushed for 250 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries and on defense had an interception and fumble recovery in a 35-12 with over Tipp City Tippecanoe.

Girls high school tennis: Freshman Amiya Bowles wins Bexley girls tennis team's first state singles title since 1982

Arementrout received 97% of the vote and was followed by St. Charles basketball player Zach Auletta, Hilliard Bradley basketball player Cade Norris and Gahanna football player Kamari Burns.

Auletta hit 3-pointer at the buzzer in a 39-37 victory over Cincinnati Moeller.

Norris scored 24 points in a 46-44 win over Cincinnati St. Xavier.

Burns had 14 tackles in a 31-7 loss to Lakewood St. Edward.

The Athlete of the Week voting recognizes athletes across all sports.

Nominations are due Monday mornings for competitions that took place the previous week.

Anyone can nominate an athlete through Twitter tagging @BrianWhite13 or by email to bwhite1@dispatch.com.

Once athletes win during the regular season, they're not eligible to be back on the ballot until the postseason. Athletes who have not been a recipient of one of the weekly awards can be nominated more than once.
